We really love farming! But, we know that many people do not get to experience this wonderful life. So, come along for the ride with us and enjoy this journey alongside us. We’d love to have your company!
I bought something. And it’s a total piece of junk…
Sometimes things don’t work the way they are advertised. Unfortunately, we often don’t know this until we get a new piece of equipment home and try it out. Buyer beware!

I broke it in a million pieces…

Sometimes no matter how hard you try you still screw up and break stuff. That’s just part of farming and life in general! Let’s get it put back together and see if we can finish this harvest…
Let’s see if this new combine will work!

It’s finally time to get rolling on harvest. This is my favorite time of year! I can’t wait to show you what we are doing. Let’s get into it!!!
Problems with the new tractor
Переглядів 6 тис.10 місяців тому
We’ve only used this tractor for a few days and we’ve got problems already. That’s what happens with used equipment. It’s time to spray beans as well so let’s get after it!
We bought our own tractor, and I wrecked Dad’s hay mower.

My brother and I made the biggest equipment purchase of our farming career! Now it’s time to put it to work and find out if we made a good decision or a big mistake.
What is the matter with this corn???
Переглядів 12 тис.Рік тому
This is not what you want your corn to look like. The weather has been crazy. We have not received any rain for the past month and we got frost overnight on June 12th! Come along as we apply nitrogen fertilizer and pray for rain.
Here we go!!! Planting is in full swing.

The weather has finally warmed up and we are hitting it hard now. Dodging rain storms and juggling breakdowns is the theme this week. Let’s do this!!
Ready or not….

This video has something for everyone. Here are just a few of the things that you will see: Carl gets the skidloader stuck, we preg check cows, wean calves, break down on the road with a cow in the trailer, and we finally get started planting! Then it snows… what the heck is happening here???
It feels like Christmas!

It always feels just like Christmas morning when something like this shows up! But what are we going to do with it now? Come along and see what’s happening on the farm this week!
Broken down on the highway with a loaded semi
Переглядів 5 тис.Рік тому
This is definitely not the most fun I’ve had trucking corn. Come along for the ride as I get towed off the shoulder of the highway by the biggest tow truck I’ve ever seen. Also, I try to use my new stock dog, Ruby, to load a bull into a trailer and it’s the beginning of maple syrup season!
I just about spilled corn everywhere!

Lots happens in this video so try to keep up!! Sledding, trucking, feeding, road-tripping. It’s gonna be a good time. Come along let’s go!
We got a new dog! And the new Apple AirPods Pro are a huge disappointment.
Переглядів 3,6 тис.Рік тому
Please welcome Ruby to the farm! Also, I’ll be testing the new AirPods Pro against the Plantronics Voyager 5200 as possible replacements for my big goofy headset. Call quality is the key factor. And we had a terrible stretch of weather but we made it though!
Why did this farmer disappear for a whole month???
Переглядів 8 тис.Рік тому
It’s time to explain where I’ve been. Many of you have been asking what happened. Today I’ll reveal why I’ve been gone from UA-cam for an entire month. I’ll also show you what’s been happening during this time and I’ll share the results of our row cleaner trial. Stay tuned!
We almost had a combine fire…
Переглядів 9 тис.Рік тому
We had a close call with a smoking belt on the combine this week. Farming is dangerous and anything can happen, but this time we got lucky. Come along and let’s see if we can get this harvest wrapped up!

Why won’t the planter work after dark???
Hi Carl, it’s been a minute. Hope you and your family are well. Looking forward to your next installment ;)
If this is premium quality why are you baling in the heat of the day
I’m soo far from being any type of farmer, ever. But watching videos like this are so informative and make you really appreciate the knowledge and work these people have and do to bring us our food.
Hi Carl I hope everything is okay with you I have been missing your channel.
👏👏👏
Awesome 👏👏👏
I must say out of all the farmers that do videos on here without question your channel is the best of them all” absolutely brilliant how you teach people like me that’s not a farmer how all things work 👏👏👏
Absolutely brilliant video very well explained 👏👏👏
Thank you very much
Great to see ya Carl 👍🏻take care and God Bless🇺🇸💪🏻🇺🇸
Informative…thank you! Farmers chisel plow to break up the hard pan. Because the two brands of chisels wear at significantly different rates, you have to wonder if you are reaching the hard pan with a 5” chisel.
it would be nice to know the price difference between the two shovels. It might the case where you get what you pay for !
The high wear shovels cost about 3X
Years ago Farm Show had an article about a farmer who burned corn stalks to dry his corn and saved a lot of money.
I feel like the savings would be offset by all the lost fertility
@@dodgebrothersfarmandranch9206 The article said that he didn’t use very many acres of corn stalks to dry his corn.
When do you let the soil rest after its labors to bring forth your crops?
for 300 dollars for that tester which i think is a ripoff. there is a much better way to test the fence and it is free. take your wife by the hand. do not tell her what you are doing then say in a sweet voice. " honey do me a favor. see if that wire is tight.. and when she grabs it and knocks her on her fanny and you better be a fast runner and make sure you have a sleeping bag in the garage and a good attorney. i have gone thru 9 wives but hey! my fence still works
I don’t think i can run that fast! 😂
And trying to run both tractors both having ivt for a real test
You're running a 340 horsepower tractor against a John Deere 370 horsepower tractor so what is the surprised the dear has more horsepower big deal and do they weigh the same I don't think so
That was the whole point. We already knew from running the 340 for two years that it was barely big enough to do what we wanted. We were shopping for a bigger tractor and we needed to know if the 370 John Deere was going to be big enough. We also wanted to figure out if a four-wheel-drive articulated tractor would work better.
a serious question. last combinei bought was 400 grand was a john deere. been retired now for 10 years. so whats a new combine cost now?
If you want a brand new one you can spend up to $1,000,000 on the big ones
hey that one guy you have working for you also works at the local vfw hall. rumor has it he is pole dancing and the old farts there want their tip money back
i was checking my fence and the goats stole the tester and ate the wire. but here is the deal i want you to show me how well your fnce works. so i double dog dare you to stick your tounge on it. so comeon. no MAN can not pass that dareup lol
Thanks for the update! Great video~ I'd love to invite you to try our working boots, how's your idea?
hell yeah
I thought u were going to talk about ur hay trailer. My niebour is trying to sell me one like it
That’s an awful good hay trailer. I’d recommend it
Try your stone fork before you order another manure fork also if you get a manure fork consider a grapple on top word of a difference
The rock bucket just gets packed full of hay and then it won’t work at all. It does work good for breaking up ice though
There's a bunch of overseas attachments comming in to our country for half the cost and they are junk!. Compare them to a good brand and you will see the difference.
Yes, I got suckered into thinking I was getting a good deal!
Hope you had a great syrup season. Good thing you could send it back. I’m pretty sure somebody couldn’t read a tape measure.
I was having Carl Dodge withdrawal syndrome! Love seeing new content, I hope you and the family are all doing good, god bless ya all.
Nice cows
You traded down for that second tine bucket. The tapered FORGED tines on the first one were far superior to the "lopped-off cold-rolled steel" tines on the second one. You'll understand once you try to jam those angle-cut (effectively blunt) tines into compacted bedding. I would probably have moaned like all-get-out to the first fabricator, got a partial refund, and mod'ded (or pursuaded the fab'er to fix) the quick-hitch angle on the first one since you had to do some "cut and paste" on it. The latch hole issue could have been addressed simultaneously.. I sure hope the second one was less expensive, because those forged spears are $40+ EACH. They don't bend and their conical attachement ends are also a far better mount than a "rattle bolt in a hole." You'll see.....luckily you didn't "man down" on those tapers because that's m.o.l. permanent, especially after a bit of rust starts happening. Use Never-Sieze or equivalent here. Always enjoy your videos. Your honest hard-working lifestyle is, for me, far in the rear-view-mirror but happy to voyeur yours. Like the ol' wag said: "Work fascinates me! I could sit an' watch it for hours."
Is the tire 24.5” inside diameter?
Yes
Great Video, thanks for sharing
Earlier case skid steers like yours ran a “universal hitch”. But it wasn’t. It was to force people to go back to case to get attachments 😂
Get a grapple buck . Bucket with teeth clamp manure . This solves the problems and can be used for other purposes as well
I’d love to but our skidloader doesn’t have auxiliary hydraulic
I have one , never intended to use is for what it was intended for ,instead it work great for picking and clearing scrub brush. It yanks it out and shake out the dirt. Plus brush piles are super easy to push up into burn piles
Yep Dodge is complete junk I agree
Bucket with teeth and a four arm grapple. End of your problem.
Hay hello enjoyed your video
Another great video, Carl. The definition of universal: Fits everything, but fits nothing properly. 😂
We have missed you videos, great to see you again, from sunny Shepparton Australia.
How many acres do u have now?
Hello sir how are u which states is good to start?
case 380 is a better tractor or a 939 fendt
I bought the same tittan tine bucket as you and It didn't fit right on my bobcat t770 and I got absolutely no help from them at all so not only do they sell bad products they have even worse customer service, may even be making a video like this as well, especially now that I know it's not just mine that is junk
I had to cut mine all apart and reweld it back together just to make it work. And this bucket wasn't cheap.
Great to see your well and kickin Carl 👍🏻
I'm a hill away from a stone throw from Tremont. Would have liked to meet you in person.
Thank you Carl glad to see you posting again.
Welcome back Carl good to see your videos again 👍
Good to see you back! Nice to see the kids out with dad.
Good to see you on a new video.
That manure fork with the eight pins is actually a Zombie Catcher... they must of miss labeled it....
